Mrs. Aldrich

Welcome to second grade!   My name is Ruth Aldrich.    I am excited to be your child's  teacher!   What an amazing journey we get to embark on together.  You will not believe how much your child will grow this year!

I graduated  with honors from Moorhead State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.   I have been teaching for thirty-three years, and this is my thirteenth  year in Jordan. I love teaching students to read and write!   We will read lots of books and learn about many authors. Students will write in journals and complete many creative writing projects.  I also love to sing, and enjoy using music in my classroom.

My dad was an elementary principal in Luverne for many years.  I watched my dad inspire so many kids, teachers, and families.  He is almost 80 years old, and people still come up to him at the store, church, or in his community and say, "Ed you  were the best principal!! "    They usually tell a funny story, and we share a laugh!  He always puts people first, and leads  with integrity and kindness!  He challenges me to be a wonderful person and teacher!  What a great role model!!

I have been married for over  thirty years to Bryan Aldrich. He teaches Chemistry and Physics at JHS. We have two children named Nathaniel and Sarah.  Our son is married to Megan.  They just had our first grandson last summer!  His name is Hunter Lee Aldrich!  Oh how we love our grandson!    We live in Jordan.

Our class rules are be safe, be respectful, and  be responsible.  Jordan Elementary follows the PBIS model.
Students will  continue to work on being a good friend and how to get along with fellow classmates in small and large groups.  Our goal is to create a classroom where learning and friendship grow.

I can't wait to get to know your child!
