Leah Weber
Hello!  My name is Leah Weber.  I have been teaching for the Jordan School District since 1998.  I’m a special education teacher that services kindergarten through 4th grade students with special needs.  Students needing this service have been diagnosed with a disability. Instructional services can varies from small group instruction to team-teaching within a regular education classroom setting.  I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach to Reading.  This approach is both structured and systematic to help struggling readers.  We also use VMath to support and reinforce more individualized math instruction.
As an educator it is important for me to identify individual academic needs, build confidence and to reinforce learning is fun no matter how hard it may be.
I grew up in Central Wisconsin were cheese is plentiful and the Packers are a family name.  I attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in special education.  Since then, I have taught adults at a correctional facility along with teaching one year at an alternative school setting for severely handicapped adolescents.  Next, I found my Jordan Elementary Job and moved to Minnesota.    Seven years ago, I earned my Mater’s Degree in Teaching and Learning through Saint Mary’s University.  I feel very lucky and grateful to work within this school district.
Please feel free to email or call me with any questions or concerns.   I enjoy being an educator and daily have the chance to make a difference.   Learning may be more difficult for my students but we will enjoy the journey together.
