Birthday Book Club

We will once again be running the Birthday Book Club program at JES! This program allows students to donate books to the JES library in honor of their birthdays. The process is quite simple: 1) parents fill out a form and determine if they wish to purchase a $5, $10, $15 or $20 book for their child;  2) the student brings the form and payment to the library;  3) on his/her birthday, the student is allowed to choose a book equaling the value of payment.

The students choose from a collection of new books that are selected based on library needs and student preferences. A bookplate will be placed in the front of the chosen book, and a photo of the student will be taken. The photo will be displayed on a bulletin board in the Media Center. The student is free to take the book home to read with the family, and when it is returned, others may enjoy his/her wonderful gift!

The PTA provided a nice start-up budget for this program several years ago, and it is now well on its way to becoming a self-sustaining program.

At the bottom of this page, you’ll find the participation form that needs to be completed for the program. It’s most helpful if this form is filled out and returned several weeks before the student’s actual birthday.  Early completion ensures that I will have a printed bookplate ready, and a good collection of birthday books to choose from. If you choose to pay online via Infinite Campus, I’ll still need a completed form for my files.
Thanks for your support!
